Position: 

Vice President Accounting & Control 

Description:

The Vice President of Accounting and Control will lead, develop, mentor, motivate, and retain a talented staff of 15 people currently organized into three departments – Corporate Accounting, Family Accounting, and Audit & Control

·        Establish, implement, and monitor company-wide accounting policies, procedures, controls, and systems

·        Work closely with the Corporate VP of Information Technology to identify opportunities to leverage information technology to automate manual accounting processes

·        Manage and review Corporate Accounting, Family Accounting, and Audit & Control accounting processes, reports, and areas for continuous improvement

·        Lead and ensure timely completion of Roll’s 10 annual external audit reports and multiple compliance audits for federal, state, local, and foreign governments

·        Conduct debt financing compliance reporting and covenant monitoring in conjunction with the VP Treasurer

·        Coordinate and review all 401(k) and HR-related reporting requirements

·        Stay abreast of, interpret, and implement new accounting and regulatory pronouncements, where appropriate

·        Advise and support business unit CFOs on myriad accounting and control areas

·        Lead due diligence efforts for acquisitions as required

·        Review operating company accounting systems from time to time to ensure accurate financial reporting

·        Oversee intercompany invoicing, billing, and reconciliations

·        Determine the appropriate timing for and lead the creation of an Internal Audit Department

·        Reports to Chief Financial Officer

·        Travel approximately 10%, mostly within California 

Required Experience:

·        Bachelor degree in Accounting

·        Master degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred

·        Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification

·        Minimum of 15 years work experience in public or corporate accounting

·        At least 5 years work experience at a Big 4 accounting firm

·        Very strong information technology background

·        Knowledgeable about both GAAP and IFRS

·        Experience with the accounting of international subsidiaries and operations
