Currently, we are recruiting for a Global Controller: 

General Responsibilities:

Responsible for directing and supervising accounting functions, which include financial statement preparation and analyses, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit, fixed assets, cash application, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and accounting for marketing programs and allowances.   The position is also responsible for financial systems, maintenance of internal controls and accounting policies and procedures.    

Manage accounting department of 50 employees, including direct supervision of five managers. 

Specific Responsibilities:

• Manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment with a strong orientation toward project leadership, sound judgment and meeting deadlines.
• Supervise the preparation and analysis of monthly financial results, while ensuring adherence to US GAAP and meeting required due dates.
• Responsible for completion of annual financial statement audit and other external audits by insurance companies, banks, etc.  Provide assistance with tax audits.
• Responsible for preparation of annual budget for the department and periodic updates to the budget as may be required.
• Arrange payment for direct importation of product, including letters of credit, drafts and wire transfers.
• Responsible for providing adequate segregation of duties and maintaining adequate internal control processes and procedures.
• Provide direct or indirect supervision and guidance to accounting staff in completing their work. Coach and develop staff both as individuals and as an effective team.
• Define department standards and KPI’s for performance.  Perform annual performance evaluations and salary reviews.
• Responsible for negotiating leases and insurance policies.  Also reviewing contracts and agreements for compliance with insurance and accounting requirements.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.  Perform monthly safety inspection of accounting area.
• Understand and follow company rules and regulations.
• Fulfill responsibilities under OHSAS 18001, understand and fully support OHSAS 18001 system.

• Perform all other duties as assigned or required.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Four year college degree in Business Administration/Accounting.
• A minimum of 15 – 20 years of experience in similar or related position.
• SCC Reporting experience
• A minimum of 10 years supervisorial experience
• Proficiency in use of large scale fully integrated business software packages.
• Proficiency in use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
