Sr. Treasury Analyst

We are seeking some finance professionals to embark on a corporate finance career with Schering-Plough’s Treasury Group. You will be assigned in either the International Treasury Treasury/Pensions Group or the Global Funding/Capital Planning Group. You will have the opportunity to experience many facets of this business unit, potentially during the course of several rotational roles. Recent MBA graduates encouraged to apply as well as those with 1+ years experience in banking or treasury environments.
The scope of the Sr. Treasury Analyst’s responsibilities entails:
International Treasury and Pensions Group:
Performs analysis on international subsidiaries capital structure and recommends changes as appropriate
Performs analysis on company’s foreign exchange exposure, recommends hedging strategy and executes strategy once approved. Works with Finance Directors to identify and mitigate currency risk through monthly forecasting and periodic updates on shifts in currency exposure.
Provides funding for international subsidiaries and executes dividend repatriation
Works closely with the Tax Staff on various tax structures
Global Funding and Capital Planning Group:
Monitors cash investments and recommends changes to the policies as required
Acts as a primary liaison between Treasury and other operating units to coordinate proper documentation/approvals for various projects
Analyzes results for short-term investment and corporate borrowings
Executes short-term investments for S-P’s investment portfolio and implements placement of commercial paper with brokers as needed
Other Responsibilities
Develops and implements cost effective methodologies for reducing S-P’s overall exposure to all types of risk
Provides analytical and statistical support for various ongoing and ad hoc projects involving operations
Works under limited supervision or independently as one grows in this role
Qualifications:
Education/Experience: MBA required; CFA helpful and may be required to complete
program as on-the-job training
