DESCRIPTION: Director of Finance

Min Experience: Over 10 Years

Job duties include but are not limited to the following:

*Member of OptaComp leadership team. Key responsibilities are to lead and manage the company’s fiscal function and provide operational leadership for underwriting, loss control and premium audit functions.

* This position will have a critical role in the development of the Organization’s long and short term financial goals and the measurement of the progress in achieving those goals.

*Identify, evaluate and implement opportunities for developing relationships with strategic partners.

*Manage the strategic relationships, including relationships with regulators, rating agencies, banking and investment partners, re-insurers, and taxing authorities, etc.

*Ensure that the operations activities are conducted in a way that is in compliance with statutory and legal requirements.

Job Requirements:

*Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field or equivalent experience.

*10+ years of experience in the insurance industry; P&C preferred, particularly workers’ compensation including 5+ years at a senior professional or managerial level.

*Experience with Statutory, GAAP and regulatory financial rules as they pertain to insurance.

*Experience with taxation principles at the federal and state level.

*Experience with risk management principles.

*Experience with evaluation of impact of risks on business and underwriting decisions.

*Experience working with actuarial, underwriting, loss control and marketing concepts.

*Experience with public speaking.

Business Specific Criteria (preferred skills):

*CPA or FSA

*Experience with workers’ compensation products.

*Experience with Florida insurance regulations.
