DESCRIPTION:  Business Manager II (8.3) 

The Business Manager is responsible for the overall business management of the portfolio of projects within the Group, providing support, guidance and in some cases supervision, to project financial and contract managers in the Centers comprising the Group.  

On behalf of the Group, the Business Manager will make decisions on financial and contractual issues, as delegated. In some cases, s/he will directly supervise the financial management of projects that have no financial manager. This person may also serve as the primary point of contact with the Academy’s central management services, including Facilities, HR, Accounting, Finance, and IT. 

CPA or Masters degree preferred in related field (Accounting, Business, Economics, etc.) or a minimum of ten years of cost analysis and financial management experience required. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted.  

Thorough knowledge of government contracts policies and procedures, specifically USAID and State Department regulations and procedures, experience working with government-funded projects and cooperative agreements; experience with foundation funding desired. Experience managing/supervising staff; Experience managing projects a plus; Experience with JAMIS or job cost accounting system a plus.  

This job will require a criminal background check.
