  Business Planning and Strategy

· Oversees annual operating budget and capital projects planning process, as well as        appropriate allocation of resources to maximize optimal returns

·Directs the budgeting preparation and review process and provides expert knowledge on cost control and management

·Establishes, standardizes, and promotes financial best practices and processes (e.g., consolidation and reporting activities) towards performance excellence

·Responsible for ensuring and monitoring quality corporate-wide forecasting and budgeting support

·Directs strategic planning activities in annual operating budget, critical capital investments, and major resource allocation

·Leverages expertise in financial control, management, and forecasting initiatives to help Business Partners’ leadership teams achieve their strategic objectives

·Champions innovative modeling of complex assumptive scenarios in identification of opportunities and financial risks to Company

Performance Management

·Provides technical accounting and finance guidance to Business Partners and Senior  management, including country operations

·Directs comprehensive financial performance analysis to gain insight into business trends and identifies key drivers of business

·Leads and develops analytical capabilities of finance group in support of strategic business objectives and activities

·Manages strategic alliances, including financial performance analysis and reporting

·Oversees collaboration of special projects in analyzing financial impact of business or financial initiatives

Reporting and Compliance

·Leads the development and continuous improvement of monthly/quarterly financial reporting, financial reporting tools, and performance analysis for high-level management business review

·Oversees and reinforces financial reporting is in compliance with accounting standards and reporting requirements, including compliance with policies affected by Sarbanes-Oxley

·Directs consolidation of global financial results and assures accuracy, control, and integrity of financial data reported to senior management and external regulatory bodies

·Provides leadership for financial reporting integration of newly acquired companies, product lines, etc., as needed

·Interprets and consults on Company’s performance and trends, and presents results to management in preparation of analysts meetings and/or press releases

·Ensures Business Partners are full aware and tested consistently in the financial ramification of key business decisions

Relationship Building and Communication

·Provides consultation to management team on interpreting and communicating financial results

·Participates in global and/or divisional cross-functional teams in support of world-wide strategic initiatives and roll-outs

·Acts as subject-matter-expert in specialized functional area(s) to all levels of organization

·Effectively identifies, establishes, and maintains strong network with internal and external key stakeholder groups

·Provides executive support in preparation of financial presentation (to the Board of Directors/Executive Management)

 Problem Solving

·Engages/leads cross-functional teams to assist in the process

·Is recognized for significant leadership working on broad and highly complex problems, which may span across geographic boundaries

·Establishes performance standards and commits to evaluation and review of developmental opportunities

·Administers the performance management process and utilizes the results as a basis for establishing specific measurable and achievable objectives

·Manages and develops people, drives functional excellence, being a leader, and thinking strategically

·May lead finance staff

·Reviews and monitors staffing in accordance with Schering-Plough policies and procedures for recruiting, selection and training of the best talent available

·Represents Company in industry forums and conferences

Qualifications:

BS in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience required; MBA or CPA preferred; 12+ years financial experience in related fields, preferably in pharmaceutical or biotech industry
