DESCRIPTION: Insight Executive Search has been asked by a Midwest based
International manufacturing firm to recruit a Director of Corporate Accounting.
This company is in fast growth mode! They have been in business and a leader in
their industry for over 75 years, but over the last year they were purchased by
a very strong investment group with a focus on growing in to new markets, and
increasing their market share in their core market sectors. With a new company
structure new challenges arise, organizational changes, SEC reporting, and a
focus on improved operational efficiency, improved financial reporting, and most
of all, keeping the investors happy!
We are looking for a CPA with strong technical accounting and organizational skills, someone with public accounting or large corporation accounting experience, a leader with the communication skills to partner with the operational leadership team, and preferably someone that has experience with SEC reporting. The Position…
This position will be responsible for the company’s accounting and consolidation activities, including ownership of the monthly closing process. The position reports to the Vice President - Controller and will be a key part of the Company’s accounting and financial reporting team.
Responsibilities…
· Direct the corporate accounting function, including the processes used to consolidate the Company’s financial statements and all company level accounting activities.
· Oversee business unit accounting functions to ensure consistency of accounting practice throughout the group of companies.
· Ensure that internal control processes are maintained throughout the accounting organization such that compliance with the requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley legislation is achieved in the ordinary course of business.
· Oversee the Company’s Inventory Accounting group, including coordination with Supply Chain and Inventory Operations groups regarding forecasting and reporting of inventory details, trends and variances.
· Coordinate, along with the Sr. Manager, Financial Reporting & Compliance, the establishment and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures for all corporate entities to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with GAAP.
· Coordinate, along with the Sr. Manager, Financial Reporting & Compliance, the quarterly and annual audit process with the Company’s external auditor.
· Provide oversight to specialty significant accounting areas including Excess & Inactive Inventory, Absorption Pool and Standard Cost Variances and reviews of Estimates at Completion used for revenue recognition purposes.
· Perform other analytical and accounting duties as necessary.
Skills, Education and Experience…
· BA/BS in Accounting or Finance, advanced degree preferred CPA certification required
· 10-15 years accounting experience
· Experience in an SEC reporting company desired
· Strong technical accounting and organizational skills
· Public accounting or large corporation accounting experience
· Ability to communication well at all levels of the organization
· Ability to work independently and produce finished-quality work product
