DESCRIPTION:  Product Performance Analyst

Job duties include but are not limited to the following:

*Conduct comprehensive review of revenue, medical and administrative cost analysis to evaluate primary segment specific performance, identify opportunity space and corrective actions where necessary

* Perform analysis for decision support regarding a particular primary market segment specific to all dimensionality of geography and product, platform & geography to include data mining, financial modeling and other financial analytics concepts

*Conduct primary segment focused controllership on financial forecast assumptions and outcomes relative to history and known incidents that will change assumptions/trends in the future

* Collaborate and communicate with business partners in order to attain cross sectional information relevant to performance insight

*Provide leadership over the reconciliation process of the FRED financial quadrant of the EDW to ensure appropriate alignment of new products and segments as well as improvement of overall data quality for financial reporting and forecasting

*Utilize forecasting tools to perform scenario and adhoc analysis

*Review of pertinent segment strategies, industry and competitive analysis

*Perform analyses requiring financial analysis acumen for other core process areas

Job Requirements:

*Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience

*5+ years related financial analysis or accounting work experience

*Strong working knowledge/understanding of health insurance/managed care products

*Experience with financial modeling

*Experience data mining through the understanding of data structures and data mining tool sets (i.e. Siebel Analytics, SAS, Quest Central, SQL, etc.)

*Experience working with MS Word and Excel

*Strong communication skills with the ability to present detailed business and financial information to all levels of management

Business Specific Criteria (preferred skills):

*Bachelors or Masters degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration or related field

*Understanding of GAAP accounting practices and theories

*Experience with the FRED (Financial Reporting & Enrollment Data Mart) financial quadrant of the EDW (Enterprise Data Warehouse)

*Experience with Corporate Performance Management (e.g. Hyperion) applications

*Experience with general ledger applications (e.g. PeopleSoft) and report/query writing capabilities (e.g. PeopleSoft nVision)

*Experience working with MS PowerPoint
