DESCRIPTION: Senior Level Controller
Tuesday Morning based in Dallas, TX is a billion dollar nationwide retail organization. We have an opening for a detail-oriented individual with proven financial leadership qualities.
Responsibilities include:
• Monitor and analyze monthly operating results while ensuring financial statements are in accordance with GAAP
• Direct and coordinate company financial planning and budget management functions
• Manage interaction with the external auditors in their examinations of the Company’s financial statements
• Responsible for SEC reporting including, but not limited to, Forms 10-K, 10-Q and 8-K
• Responsible for compliance of SOX controls
• Over seeing daily operations of accounting processing including general ledger, accounts payable, fixed assets, and revenue recording through the Accounting Managers and Staff.
• Research accounting and financial reporting issues resulting from the adoption of new accounting principles.
• Analyze emerging accounting issues with potential impact on the Company’s transactions and arrangements, evaluate impact of proposed rules, and assist the Vice President-Finance in determining the Company’s position.
Requirements Include:
• 8+ years total relevant experience with minimum of 3-5 years in the public sector
• BS/BA in Accounting and a CPA designation
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of US GAAP, FASB Sarbanes Oxley and SEC compliance
• Recent controller experience for a comparable company
• Proven ability to train, motivate and build a team of people
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and oral/written communication skills, sound business practice, and unquestionable ethics
Experience in a retail organization is a plus
