DESCRIPTION: Financial Analyst  

The Port Authority is a bistate public agency operating some of the busiest transportation facilities in the NY/NJ region with an unprecedented multi-billion-dollar Capital Program to renew our transportation and Port infrastructure, upgrade our airports and rebuild The World Trade Center Site. We currently have an opening for a Financial Analyst in the Financial Analysis Department.  In this position, you will act as a strategic partner with the line businesses while working closely with the management teams on new business ventures and lease arrangements.  

In this position, you will be responsible for identifying areas of opportunity within the respective business segments; providing financial expertise in the initial planning stages of business initiatives, projects, and negotiations; analyzing assumptions, revenue implications, and operational impacts; and resolving all financial issues for final business proposals.  

Candidates will possess a degree in Finance or a related major. An MBA is preferred. A minimum of 2-5 years experience in financial analysis or related analytic area in the transportation industry is desired. Knowledge of finance methodologies and metrics is ideal. The ability to analyze and manipulate quantitative data and present results and recommendations to management is necessary. Excellent interpersonal, project management, prioritizing, written and verbal communication skills are essential. Proficiency in MS Excel is required.
