Management Analyst
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is a bi-state public agency responsible for promoting transportation and commerce, operating some of the busiest and most important transportation links in the region including bridges, tunnels, bus terminals, airports, PATH, AirTrain systems, the NY/NJ seaport, and the WTC site.
We currently have an opening for a Senior Management Analyst in the Management and Budget Department. In this position, you will evaluate new and existing programs; assist executive management by identifying and recommending solutions to major management and policy issues; provide internal business management consulting services to increase organizational effectiveness; evaluate and approve proposed changes to organizational structure; approve departmental performance measures as part of the annual budget process; and review activities not meeting their performance measures and recommend corrective action. Additional responsibilities include supervising process improvement projects; participating in agency-wide program reviews; managing Request-for-Results initiatives; researching and implementing industry best practices; and reviewing Board Items to determine if they provide a clear statement of goals, expenditures and expected results.
Candidates must possess a Bachelors’ degree. A Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Public Administration, Industrial Engineering is preferred. A minimum of 3 years experience in financial services in a public agency or corporation is required. At least 2 years experience in efficiency studies, program analysis or budget analysis of facility operations and maintenance functions is ideal. The ability to facilitate team projects is necessary.
