DESCRIPTION:  Operational Auditor  

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey operates many of the busiest and most important transportation links in the New York/New Jersey region.  The Port Authority's Audit Department is responsible for conducting audits of Port Authority business processes, systems, functions and operations, as well as audits of the financial and operating records of firms that do business with the Port Authority with their main office being located in Jersey City, New Jersey. 

In this position, you will assist in planning the scope of audits; participate in pre-audit meetings with the auditee; review procedures, performance measurements, and staffing analysis; evaluate measurement concepts and internal control practices; communicate audit results; analyze data and develop recommendations for corrective actions; and draft audit reports.  Candidates will possess bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering Management or a related field, along with 2-5 years of experience in the field of operational auditing or operations analysis. Strong planning, analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills are essential. Proficiency with MS Excel and Word are required. Familiarity with MS Access is a plus. A valid New York or New Jersey driver's license with travel in the New York/New Jersey area is a must!
