DESCRIPTION:  Senior Auditor

JOB SUMMARY: This person is responsible for evaluating company operations to determine if management controls are adequate, and operations are efficient and achieve company objectives. Provide management with results and recommendations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  Assist in the company’s annual risk assessment process.

  Conduct assigned audits in accordance with professional standards and departmental policies and procedures.

  Interview management to define audit scope and interview process owners to understand processes and controls. Review policy and procedure manuals and research best practices. Document the process flow and controls in place. Prepare risk assessment and create audit program and test plan.

  Obtain, analyze, and appraise audit evidence as a basis for an informed, independent, and objective opinion concerning the control environment. Discuss issues and concerns with management as they arise.

  Write draft audit report for each audit engagement to effectively communicate the audit scope, the audit results, and the proposed action plans. Meet with management to discuss audit results and obtain the agreement with corrective actions. Distribute final audit report to management in a timely manner.

  Perform follow-up audit procedures to ensure the adequacy of the corrective actions taken.

  Review process owner testing and perform independent testing of internal controls for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

  Develop and maintain effective client relationships. Provide guidance and counsel to management regarding internal control aspects of policies and procedures during development.

  Provide assistance to external auditors during annual or interim reviews.

  Attend training annually to build skills and knowledge.

  Other duties may be assigned. 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  BA or BS Degree (preferably in Accounting or Finance) and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  Must have good business judgment.

  Must be able to work in a team.

  Must have analytical thinking.

  Must have good communication skills.

  Must have ability to use company standard software.

  Requires up to 20% travel, including overseas

  Prefer financial or accounting experience.

  Prefer CPA or CIA.

  Prefer prior experience in public accounting or internal auditing.

  Prefer multi-location and international operations experience.

  Foreign language a plus.
