General:
Sony Pictures Television (SPT) produces television programs for all markets and
day parts, and is a full-service domestic distributor.
The Manager is responsible for development of financial models and analyses to
provide strategic, financial and analytical support of SPT’s production and
distribution of television series, TV movies and shortform programming.
Responsibilities:
* Create complex financial models, projections and sensitivities for TV Series,
shortform programming and TV Movies. Examples include Greenlight analyses,
talent profit participation estimates, cash flow estimates and impact of
partnership, financing and distribution structures.
* Analyze TV Series and film license agreements, co-production agreements,
distribution agreements, and other relevant deals.
* Assess financial impact of new ventures or other agreements.
* Develop Powerpoint presentations for senior management that convey complex
financial and strategic issues.
* Independently partner with Production, Creative, Business Affairs, Budgeting
and Forecasting and other departments to develop business model assumptions.
Also be able to effectively relate the modeling results back to these
constituents.
* Develop the sales model for domestic television distribution of feature
films.
Experience:
* A minimum of five years or more of relevant work experience in Finance,
Business Planning, Banking, Strategic planning or related work requiring
financial modeling and strategic thinking.
* Four-year accounting, business, economics or related degree.
* Extensive MS Excel and Powerpoint
* CPA and/or MBA preferred, not required.
* Entertainment experience preferred.
Skills:
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
* Ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects;
* Solid follow-through on all projects; ability to bring projects to timely
completion;
* Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and ability to coordinate
timely information gathering from multiple sources;
* Ability to effectively interact with all levels of management;
* Ability to quickly grasp new concepts;
* Advanced PC skills and excellent written and verbal skills are required.
