Sony Pictures Television (SPT) is one of the television industry’s leading

including series, telefilms, theatrical releases and family entertainment for
network and cable television, as well as first-run and off-network series for

that includes the top-rated daytime dramas and game shows, landmark off-network
series, original animated series and critically acclaimed primetime dramas,
comedies and telefilms. SPT also owns one-half of cable channel GSN and is a
partner in FEARnet, the premier horror/thriller website and VOD service. Sony
Pictures Television oversees all of Sony Pictures Entertainment's (SPE) domestic
digital distribution efforts across all electronically delivered platforms,
including the internet and mobile, as well as the user-generated video site
Grouper. Sony Pictures Television, advertiser sales, is one of the premiere
national advertising sales companies, handling the commercial inventory in SPT
syndicated series as well as in all of SPE's digital businesses in the United
States, for Sony BMG and for iN DEMAND's high-definition channel INHD, and is
part owner of national media sales company ITN Networks, Inc.
Description:
The Executive Director is accountable for all aspects of accounting and finance
for the internet and mobile licensing and content business, as well as Grouper.
This includes budgets, forecasts, and monthly financial statements. Grouper
was recently acquired by Sony Pictures Entertainment and the digital business
was recently combined with SPT and therefore will also be accountable for
coordinating and accomplishing a variety of transition and integration
objectives. The Executive Director will have interaction with Grouper and
Digital Services and Distribution Division management.
Accountabilities:
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with management.
* Understand the company’s business and tactical strategies, as well as timely
performance indicators.
* Read and understand significant 3rd party agreements.
* Prepare financial budgets, forecasts, and multi-year plans in conjunction
with management.
* Prepare GAAP compliant monthly financial statements.
* Review financial statements with management.
* Review budgets and forecasts vs. year-to-date actual results with management.
* Develop sound financial internal controls and policies and procedures in
accordance with Sarbanes Oxley and SPE guidelines.
* Transition and/or integrate functions between Grouper/Digital and SPT (e.g.,
Grouper accounts payable).
Experience:
* Four year accounting or business degree required.
* A min. of eight + years public accounting/finance experience required.
* Internet experience required.
* CPA preferred.
Skills:
* Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects.
* Strong follow-through on all projects; ability to bring projects to timely
completion.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
* Excellent communication skills especially with non-Finance individuals
* Strong organizational and PC skills
