The Finance Manager will have various Development related planning, month-end close and analysis responsibilities, be accountable for understanding and tracking development deals and for preparation of management reports.

The Manager also has responsibility for understanding the Development related Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and financial reporting.

Accountabilities:

* Obtain understanding of the development process of the TV business.  This includes understanding development projects and overall term deal contracts, how they inter-relate and their financial statement impact.
* Manage and develop a Senior Financial Analyst who will assist with accounting entries and contract tracking.
* Preparation a monthly Creative and Development Report.
* Track and forecast all project commitments and term deals via communication with business affairs, staying abreast of development schedules, production slates, network reimbursements, loan out of term deal producers, and the impact of any project abandonments or early disposition of term deals.
* Ensure proper accounting including reserve calculations, abandonment write offs & penalties.
* Monitor cash disbursements relating to term deals and development projects.
* Work with contract administration, business affairs and TV finance to obtain, as well as supply information.
* Assist Director of Finance in building relationships with SPT Executives to ensure that their financial support needs are met.
* Complete special projects for financial and operating management as necessary.
* Review, document, and enhance policies and procedures for planning and accounting functions.
* Assist with monthly flash reporting, including analysis of forecast variances
* Assist in variance analysis of actual results to forecasts and budgets.
* Insure continued compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.

Requirements:

* BS/BA degree with accounting/finance focus required
* A minimum of five years public and/or private accounting experience required
* CPA and/or MBA preferred
* Entertainment experience preferred
* SAP knowledge preferred
* Strong MS Excel skills required
* Ability to quickly grasp new concepts and problem solve
* Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects
* Strong accounting / GAAP knowledge
* Ability to perform tasks with reasonable independence
* Detail-oriented with strong organizational, analytical and PC skills
* Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
* Excellent oral and written communication skills especially with non-Finance individuals
