DESCRIPTION: Senior Financial Analyst

Sony Pictures Entertainment is a leading creator and distributor of

syndication, home video acquisitions and distribution, operation of studio
facilities, development of new entertainment technologies and distribution of
filmed entertainment in over 67 countries.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Preparation of annual budget, quarterly forecasts and 5 year strategic plan
* Preparation of monthly actuals; coordinate completion of financial reporting
packages for MPG management and corporate
* Maintaining of ultimates for released films, including updating, preparing and
investigating actual vs. ultimate variances and understanding film sensitivity
models
* Reviewing comparison of actual results with budget and forecast estimates;
preparing appropriate variance explanations thereon and highlighting issues to
senior finance management
* Preparation and review of cash flow, balance sheet and other actual, budget
and forecast schedules
* Preparation of analyses and special reports to enable management to monitor
performance and offer suggestions for improvement
* Evaluating competitive industry and historical trends in comparison to MPG
results
* Evaluating distribution costs and determining cost savings opportunities
* Supervising general ledger maintenance; preparing, approving and posting
journal entries
* Developing and maintaining relationships with key process customers:
International Theatrical, Worldwide Home Video, Television, Worldwide
Distribution, Worldwide Marketing and Corporate shared service departments
Experience and Education Required:
* CPA strongly preferred
* Strong level of communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong level of project management and planning skills
* Strong level of Finance and Accounting skills
* Good computer knowledge in a Windows environment (specifically Excel, Access
is a plus)
* Strong knowledge in working with mainframe GL accounting systems, particularly
SAP
* Ability to operate effectively in a cross functional team environment
* Ability to identify issues and appropriate resolutions
* Ability to translate concepts into actionable items
A min. of 3 to 4 years work experience preferred
Entertainment industry, Big accounting, or investment/consulting experience
preferred.
