DESCRIPTION:  Director of Fiscal Services 

Roanoke City Public Schools, located in southwest Virginia, is an urban school division serving a K-12 student population of 13,800 and 2,300 employees.  We are currently seeking applicants for the position of Director of Fiscal Services. 

Responsibilities include coordinating general business services in the areas of grant development and budgeting; coordinating financial services in the areas of payroll, A/P, A/R, budget review, cost analysis, fiscal reporting, grant monitoring, management auditing and review accountability; prepares appropriation requests and coordinates the requests with City Council; and analyzes cost effectiveness of expenditures. 

Applicants should have experience in local government or school division financial management and a master’s degree in related field, CPA highly preferred.   Applicants must be detail oriented, able to work under tight deadlines, and have demonstrated leadership ability in working with students, staff, parents, and the general public. 

The salary range for this 12-month position is $66,459 - $93,383.
