DESCRIPTION: CCH Inc., a Wolters Kluwer Business, and the leading
provider of information services, software and workflow tools for tax,
accounting, legal and business professionals is seeking Writer Analysts and
Associates for our Tax, Accounting and Legal product lines. These positions are
located in Riverwoods, IL and Washington D.C.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Perform analytical and explanatory writing or develop practice aids for current developments in newsletter-type articles, head notes, report letter summaries, checklists, worksheets, or spreadsheets.
· Participate in product evaluation, new product development and/or product enhancements and initiatives.
· Participate in sales, marketing and customer contact activities.
· Review work of others in the group for substance, style, grammar and punctuation.
· Work independently as well as being an effective team member.
· Make effort to understand customer and market, apply this understanding to enhance products/writing.
· Assist in conducting competitive analysis.
· Obtain and apply a working knowledge of current technologies within a specific business unit.
· Organize work and effectively manage time to meet production requirements and deadlines.
Depending on level of position, may also be responsible for:
· Research new developments
· Demonstrate an ability to articulate customer needs and translate to product enhancements or new product ideas.
· Demonstrate a high level of writing, analytical, communication and presentation skills.
· Demonstrate a high level of computer skills.
· Troubleshoot problems that occur with department tools and products, working with cross-functional groups, as necessary, to resolve issues quickly.
· Perform practice systems development or electronic publishing design, with limited direction.
· May assist in the preparation of promotional or training materials for customers and sales representatives.
Qualifications:
· Education:
o CPA, MST, LL.M. in Taxation or Law Degree
· 2+ years of practice or writing experience in one or more of the following areas:
o State, Federal or International Tax Law
o Income Tax Preparation
o Technical Accounting/Financial Reporting with solid GAAP knowledge
o Estate and Gift Taxation Laws
o Federal Tax Implications of Capital Changes
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Proficient Computer Skills
· Attention to detail and accuracy
· Analytical.
· Flexible and responsive to change.
· Ability to work independently and within a team environment
