Position Summary
The Cost Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing site manufacturing accounting functions as well as partnering with operations management to support their analytical needs and meet their objectives. This includes ensuring all the significant objectives of the function are met on a timely basis; implementing financial policies and procedures as necessary; ensuring the financial information and metrics for site operations are accurately stated; and financial operations employees are developed appropriately.
Position Details
Responsibilities for this position include managing the integrity of the operating system and determining the appropriate security system levels for the finance group. In addition to performing detailed analysis of manufacturing and manufacturing support expenses, the Cost Accounting Manager will also monitor site inventories and inventory reserves as well as manage the daily activities of direct reports. The successful candidate will formulate and recommend policies, objectives, plans, procedures and schedules for the department; develop, recommend, implement and monitor uniform programs; conduct quality control audits; and evaluate work standards and performance levels ensuring uniformity, effectiveness and appropriate staffing levels.
Education Requirements
B.A./B.S. preferably in Finance or Accounting is required. C.P.A. and/or M.B.A. are desired.
Experience Requirements
At least 5 years of manufacturing accounting and/or cost accounting experience is required. Candidate must have knowledge of general computer applications and software; excellent writing and interpersonal skills; a strong understanding of GAAP and operational activities as well as ERP systems. Experience with JD Edwards Enterprise One Solution and Microsoft Office are a plus.
