It took seven long years for the Cassini-Huygens spacecraft to reach Saturn. But for the team at Jet Propulsion Laboratory, success hinged on a ninety-six
minute burn-cycle that would carry the craft directly through the ring-plane. Ninety-six excruciating minutes, during which the craft took over 100,000 particle hits. At any point, a single marble-sized impact could end the mission. The tension in the Mission Support room was electric. Senior Contract Administrator

We are currently seeking a Senior Contract Administrator to conduct task plan preparation and negotiations, ultimately leading to the administration of new/revised task orders for NASA and non-NASA sponsors. This will involve:

This position typically requires a BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting with 10-15 years’ experience, or an MBA with 8-13 years’ experience. Extensive experience with prime contract administration or subcontract administration, including in-depth knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARs), demonstrated experience in negotiations and administration of government cost-type R&D contracts are also required.

Candidates must possess the ability to take the initiative to bring assigned tasks to successful completion with minimal supervision, the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, the ability to apply good judgment when making business decisions, the ability to interface with all levels of management and the ability to clearly communicate both orally and in writing. Proficiency in personal computer applications and software (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint) in order to execute the work required, including Data Extractor and the ability to learn ORACLE, are also essential.
