DESCRIPTION: Accounting Director

RESPONSIBILITES:

Direct the enterprise Corporate Accounting Policy function in support of corporate areas, insurance and non-insurance businesses.
Develop internal accounting policy guidance (GAAP and statutory) for investment and insurance transactions.
Monitor industry, FASB, AICPA, SEC, NAIC and regulatory accounting developments.
Prepare accounting policy summary documents for senior financial management.
Interact with KPMG on the development of accounting policy guidance.
Provide training to financial management and their staffs on technical accounting topics.
Support Corporate and business areas on acquisition and sales transactions.
Assist Controllers department production reporting areas during quarterly close periods.

REQUIREMENTS:

Strong analytical, technical accounting and problem solving skills.
Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
CPA desirable.

This opening currently resides in Springfield, MA, however as organizations and their structures evolve, locations may be reevaluated and position location may change. We are looking for candidates who have flexibility between MassMutual's two locations: Springfield, MA, Enfield, CT.
