Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Part of a five-person audit staff with high visibility to the Company’s Senior Financial Executives and Board of Directors. Responsibilities include:
- Reporting to the GenCorp Director of Internal Audit
- Supporting GenCorp’s Financial & Operational Audits- Corporate, Aerospace & Defense and Real Estate Segments.
- Financial Statement reviews: Primarily addressing balance sheet accounts for completeness, accuracy and compliance with US GAAP
- Operational Reviews: Identifying, Assessing, developing audit programs and testing key controls and developing and supporting process improvements.
Process Reviews: Evaluating developing audit programs and testing specific activities for best practices and improvements.
- Government Compliance Audits: Performing Government compliance reviews for specific activities and programs.
- Supporting the company’s compliance Sarbanes-Oxley Act including monitoring and testing key controls identified by management.
- Supporting the Development of Company Accounting Policies and Procedures.
- Supporting GenCorp Chief Financial Officer requests associated with Special Projects/ Accounting initiatives.
- Supporting the investigation of Questionable Activities/ Fraud.
- Supporting Merger, Acquisition and Divesture initiatives.

Qualifications:

TYPICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and at least 7 years of progressive financial and operational experience in a manufacturing environment. CPA, CIA and MBA preferred. Experience with Information Technology and automated audit techniques (e.g., SQL, Sampling Software) preferred. Government contracting experience a plus. Requires travel of 30-40% annually to perform audits primarily in Redmond, WA; Gainesville, VA; and Jonesborough, TN. Must be able to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
